An Ordinance to amend the Pensions Ordinance, Chapter 89.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Pensions (Amend- Short uitle ment) Ordinance, 1957, and shall come into operation on the tst day of April, 1957-

and

commence-

ment.

2. Subsection (1) of section 8 of the Pensions Ordinance is Amendment repealed and replaced by the following new subsection—

"(1) The normal age of retirement of an officer holding a pensionable office shall be on attaining the age of 55 years :
