Explanatory Note.
(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport).
These regulations amend regulations 27 and 42 to obviate the necessity, in any proceedings under these regulations, to prove that a traffic sign or traffic signals, the contravention of which is the subject of the prosecu- tlon, was lawfully erected by or with the authority of the Commissioner of Police within the meaning of those regulations. The regulations are modelled on section 30 of the Road Traffic Act, 1984, es amended by section 15 and the Second Schedule, Emergency Laws (Transitional Provisions) Act, 1948.

ADMINISTRATION of Justice (SUMMARY OFFENCES) (AMENDMENT OF FIRST SCHEDULE) ORDER, 1956.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Administration of Justice (Summary Offences) Ordinance, 1955)
the Governor in Council has made the following Order-
1. This Order may be cited as the Administration of Justice Citation. (Summary Offences) (Amendment of First Schedule) Order, 1956.
2. The First Schedule to the Administration of Justice Amendment (Summary Offences) Ordinance, 1955, is amended by the addition of Firal at the end thereof of the following-
**5. Driving a vehicle in contravention of instructions displayed or indicated on a permanent sign or other device; erected or fixed, in or near any road, and purporting to show that, at thal place-
(a) vehicles, or any specified clase or description of vehicles, are prohibited or restricted either generally, or during particular hours; or
(6) the driving of vehicle is probibited otherwise
than in a specified direction,
contrary to paragraph (1) of regulation 27 of the Vehicles and Traffic Regulations—
where the vehicle is a motor vehicle where the vehicle is a bicycle

6. Driving or using a vehicle on a road between sunset and sunrise not carrying a lamp or lamps showing to the front a white light visible for such distance na will afford adequate means of notifying the approach or position of the vehicle, contrary to regulation 159 of the Vehicles and Traffic Regula. tions as applied by paragraph (1) of regulation 190 of those regulations.

7. Driving or using a vehicle on a road between sunset and aunrise not carrying a red lamp to the roar, contrary to regulation 163 of the Vehicles and Traffic Regulations as applied by paragraph (1) of regulation 190 of those regulations.
