Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but la intended to indicate their general purport).

*. Under A recent amendment of the Miscellaneous Licences Ordinance (Chapter 114), a separate licence is required for physiotherapy clinics which are thus distinguished from massage establishments. These regulations introduce into the Miscellaneous Licences Regulations a new Fart regulating the keeping of such clinics (see regulation 5), prescribing the fee payable for a licence, and appointing the Director of Medical and Health Services as licensing authority (see regulation 2(6) ).

Regulation 2(a) amends the Table to regulation 2 of the principal regolations for the reason that-

(a) hawkers of tobacen, cigara or cigarettes are now licensed under

the Dutiable Commodities Ordinance, Chapter 109; and

(6) two of the fees for duplicate copies of licences have become un-

necessary.

A fee for a duplicate copy of a licence is now included in regula- tion 6 of the principal regulations. Opportunity has also been taken to provide a fee for the amendment of a licence (see regulation 3).
