64. (1) As soon as is practicable after the declaration of the result of the election the returning officer shall in the presence of the counting agents-
(4) seal up in separate packets-
(i) counted ballot papers;
(ii) the copy of the notice of result of election; and (iii) rejected ballot papers, including ballot papers rejected in part;
(b) verify the ballot paper account given by ench presiding officer by comparing it with the number of ballot papers recorded by him under regulation 45, and the unused and spoilt ballot papers in his possession and the tendered vores list, and
(c) re-seal after examination each packet sealed by a presid-
ing officer.
(2) The returning officer shall draw up a statement as to the result of the verification and shall, on request, allow any candidate or clection agent to copy the statement.
55. (1) The deposit made under regulation & shall either be returned to the person making it or to his personal representative or be forfeited to the Crown.
(2) If a candidate is not shown as standing nominated in accordance with regulation y or if the election is countermanded. the returning officer shall as soon as is practicable thereafter return the receipt for the deposit to the Accountant General and shall certify in writing to him that such deposit should be returned and as soon as is practicable thereafter the Accountant General shall return the said deposit to the candidate or ta his personal representative as the case may be.
(3) Subject to the provisions of paragraph (4), as soon as is practicable after the notification of the result of the election has been prepared in accordance with regulation 53, the returning officer shall return the receipt for the deposit to the Accountant General and shall certify in writing to him, that the deposit should be returned and as soon as is practicable thereafter the Accountant General shall return the deposit to the candidate or to his persunal representative.

(4) If after the preparation of notice of result of the election in accordance with regulation 53 it is found by the returning officer that less than one-eighth of the electors who recorded their votes have voted for a candidate and that candidate has not been elected, the returning officer shall return the receipt for the deposit to the Accountant General and shall certify in writing to him that the deposit should be forfeited and thereupon the Accountant General shall forfeit the deposit to the Crown.
50. The returning officer shall forward to the registration Disposal
of ballot officer all the packets of ballot papers in his possession, together papere, with the said statements, the ballot paper accounts, Lendered votes etc. lists, lists of blind electors assisted by companions, lists of votes marked by the presiding officer, statements relating thereto, declarations made by the companions of blind electors, packets of counterfoils and marked copies of registers, sent by each · presiding officer, having first endorsed on each packet a descrip- tion of its contents and the date of the election to which it relates.
57. (1) The Supreme Court, on being satisfied by evidence Power of on oath-
Supreme Court in relation
(a) that the inspection or production of any tendered ballot to ballot
papers or rejected hallul papers, including ballot papers papers, rejected in part; or
(b) that the opening of the sealed packet of counterfoils or
the inspection of counted ballot papers,
is required for the purpose of instituting or maintaining a pro- secution for an offence in relation to ballot papers, or for the purpose of a petition questioning an election, may make an order for the inspection or production of any such ballot papers or the opening of the sealed packet of counterfoils.
(2) An order under this regulation may be made subject to such conditions as to persons, time, place and made of inspection or production of hallot papers or of opening the sealed packet of counterfoils as the court may think expedient, and may direct the registration officer to retain the ballot papers and the sealed packel of counterfoils intact for such period as may be specified in the order,
