WHEREAS by Article I paragraph (4) of the Letters Patent dated the 19th January, 1955, amending the Letters Patent of 1917, constituting the Office of Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and providing for the Government thereof a copy of the said amend- ment being appended to this Proclamation, it is declared that the said amending Letters Patent shall be published in the Hong Kong Government Gazette and shall come into operation on 2 date to be fixed by the Governor by Proclamation published in the Gazette:

AND WHEREAS I have thought fit that the said amending Letters Patent of the 19th day of January, 1955, shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1955 =
