Subsection (2) of section rg of the principal Ordinance is amended by the addition at the end thereof of the following-
"For the purpose of this subsection "the holder for the time being of the office" shall, in the event of there being more than one holder of such office, mean the holder in the Colony who is or was; in fact, exercising the duties of such office.",

The principal Ordinance is amended by the addition, new section after section 19, of the following new section-
19A.

18A. Where any enactment provides whether expressly or by necessary implication that there shall be one holder of an office or whenever provision is made by the Legislative Council for an office and bui for this section it would or might appear that there shall not be more than one substantive holder of such office at one and the same time, nevertheless if the holder of such office has left the Colony on leave of absence pending rutinquishment of his office, it shall be lawful to appoint another officer substantively to the same office.".
Section 35 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the deletion of the words "three" and "five" and the substitution therefor respectively of the following-
"seven" and "fifty".

An Ordinance to amend the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordin-
ance. 1935.

Br it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Health Short title. (Sanitation) (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance, 1955.
2. Section 3 of the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance. Amendinent 1935. (hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance) is 3. amended by-
(a) the deletion of the definition of "Dangerous trade";
of section
(15 of 1935).
