EMERGENCY REGULATIONS ORDINANCE. (Chapter 241).
Emergency (Resettlement AREAS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1954.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations-
1. These regulations may be cited as the Emergency Citation. (Resettlement Areas) (Amendment) Regulations. 1954-
2. Regulation 7 of the Emergency (Resettlement Areas) Amendment Regulations, 1952, (hereinafter referred to as the principal regu- of regula
tion 7. lations) is amended by the deletion of paragraph (c) and the (GINA. substitution therefor of the following paragraph-

"(a) if the permittee or any person who is on the premises without authority fails on request of the Urban Council or of any officer appointed by it for the purposes of this paragraph, to quit the premises, such officer may use all such force as may be reasont- ably necessary to evict such permittee from the premises or from the resettlement area and may to that end invoke the assistance of the police, of any authorized officer and of any other officer appointed by the Urban Council for the purposes of this paragraph;"'.

(1) Wherever any person who occupies any permit for building or structure in any resettlement area under the terms of a hire-purchase agreement which he has entered into with an approved body, defaults in pay ment of any instalment due under such agreement, the Urban Council may in its discretion cancel any permit which may have been issued to him to occupy such building or structure by seven days' notice in writing referring to this regulation.
