Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Urban Council Short (Amendment) Ordinance, 1953-

title.

2. Section 3 of the Urban Council Ordinance (hereinafter Amendment referred to as the principal Ordinance) is amended---

of section 3. (Cap. 101).

(2) by the deletion in subsection (1) of the words "the Commissioner of Police" in the fourth and fifth lines and the remaining words to the end of the subsection and the substitution therefor of the following-

"the Social Welfare Officer, and not more than ten additional members."
