Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows

This Ordinance may be cited as the Magistrates (Amend- Short title ment) Ordinance, 1953, and shall come into operation on the day mencement. appointed for the commencement of the District Court Ordinance, (No. 1 of 1953.

Section 2 of the Magistrates Ordinance (hereinafter Amendment referred to as the principal Ordinance) is amended by the inser-
