GIFT TO HER MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT AS A CONTRIBUTION TO
THE COST OF REINFORCING THE GARRISON
Resolution made and passed by the Legislative Council on 31st December, 1952,
RESOLVED that,
in view of the heavy expenditure being incurred by Her Majesty's Govern- ment in the United Kingdom on the defence of the free world and on the reinforcement of the garrison of this Colony, this Council do approve the gift to Her Majesty's Government from the general revenues of the sum of eight million dollars, over and above the sum of sixteen million dollars already approved in the Estimates for the current financial year as a contribution to the cost of reinforcing the said garrison.
