PUBLIC HEALTH (FOOD) ORDINANCE. (Chapter 140).
BY-LAWS MADE BY THE Urban CounÇIL
under section 5.
In exercise of the power conferred by section 5 of the Public Health (Food) Ordinance, the Urban Council has made the following by-laws
1. These by-laws may be cited as the Slaughter-houses Citation. (Amendment) By-laws, 1952, and shall be read as one with the (Volume X. Slaughter-bouses By-laws.
page 181).

**26. Subject to the provisions of by-law 12, by express permission of the officer in charge previously obtained on each occasion, no person shall enter or remain in a slaughter-house unless he is in possession of a valid pass issued by the Senior Veterinary Officer,"

**29. (1) Every person who may desire to enter or remain of by-law in a slaughter-house for the purpose of slaughtering or of supplying food or water to any animal therein or of preparing any carcase for sale, or otherwise for some lawful purpose connected with the slaughter-house shall make written application to the officer in charge. If the Senior Veterinary Officer is satisfied that the applicant is a person of good character and there is good reason for making the application, he may issue a pass. Every such pass shall be in the form prescribed in the Schedule and shall, subject to the provisions of paragraph (2), remain valid for six months or such lesser period as may be specified therean. It shall only be used by the person whose name and photograph appear thereon.
(2) The Senior Veterinary Officer may withdraw or order the withdrawal of any pass without previous notice to the holder if he considers that the bolder thereof has ceased to be a fit person to enter or to remain in any slaughter-house or has contravened any of the provisions of these by-laws.
