LEGAL PRACTITIONERS ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 159).

REGULATIONS MADE BY THE CHIEF JUSTICE

under sec. 18 of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance (Cap. 159).

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Legal Practitioners Regulations, 1952.

2. The Regulations contained in the Third Schedule of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance, 1948, are hereby revoked and the following substituted therefor

REGULATIONS AS TO EXAMINATION.

1. The final examination shall be set by examiners appointed by the Law Society in England and shall be based upon the subjects contained in the syllabus for the time being applicable to candidates for the solicitors' final examinations in England but modified in such manner as the Society may from time to time recommend.

4. (1) A candidate for the final examination shall-

(0) give to the registrar and to the Society notice in writing as hereinafter specified of his intention to sit for such examination stating whether he will present himself for examination in England or Hong Kong, and shall furnish to the registrar Affidavits by the candidate and by one or more persons having knowledge of the facts, setting forth particulars of his legal training and studies in Hong Kong or in England up to the date of the notice and of any arrangements for further training and study, if un- completed, on the said date: Provided that the candidate shall furnish to the Society certified copies of such Affidavits and such additional evidence of his training and study up to the date of his examination as the Society may require;

(b) pay to the Society such fees as the Society shall fix from

time to time;
