76. The Supervisor shall be responsible for issuing to all teachers letters of appointment which shall set out—

(a) conditions of service;

(b) salary seale; and

(e) conditions of termination of appointment.

77. The Supervisor shall be responsible for ensuring that the salaries of all teachers are paid in full when due.

PART XII.

Holidays.

78. The Supervisor shall send to the Director as soon as is possible in each case notica of all holidays it is intended to give, including any special holidays given in honour of any particular event, and of all dates on which the usual work of the school will be suspended. Such notice shall reach the Director not less than ten days before the intended holi- day.

79. The Director may by notice in writing to the Supervisor forbid the granting of a holiday on any specified day or days and the Supervisor and principal shall thereupon erisure that the usual work of the school is continued on that day or daya.

80. The Director may by notice in writing to the Supervisor of any require grant school require that a holiday shall be given on any day specified in such notice and the Supervisor shall ensure that such holiday is given accord- ingly.

PART XIII.

General

81. At or near the entrance to every school there shall be prominently diaplayed a board or other form of notice bearing in conspicuous lettering the registered name of the school.

82. At the entrance to every classroom there shall be a board or sign bearing an identification number or letter for such room, This number or letter must correspond with the number or letter for the room as shown on the approved plan.

83. In every classroom there shall be kept exhibited in a prominent place a certificate signed by the Director certifying the maximum number of pupils permitted in that room, and no more than such maximum number shall be permitted in that room.

81. Not more than 45 pupils shall be taught at one time by one teacher, except in special cases with the permission of the Director.

86. A separate attendance register in a form approved by the Director shall be kept for each class.

86. All schools shall be provided with apparatus, equipment and general facilities adequate for the courses of instruction to be given.

87. (1) No instruction may be given in any school except in accordance with a syllabus approved by the Director.

(2) The Supervisor of every school shall submit to the Director when- ever so required by the Director the syllabus of instruction of each class for his approval.

(3) The Director may give directions in writing to the Supervisor of any school as to the instruction which shall be or shall not be included in any such syllabus.

(4) Unless with the express permission of the Director in writing, military training in schools in prohibited.

(6) The Director may by order prohibit the presence or use of any Apecified document in schoola.

(6) No document shall be used for instruction in a class without the previous approval of the Director.

(7) The Director may give directions in writing to the Supervisor of any school in respect of the preparation of the time-table of work of any class and may require any Supervisor to submit for his approval any such time-table,

(8) The time-table of each class shall be displayed In the cleasroom.

88. (1) No Instruction, education, entertainment, recreation

or Policies) propagands or activity of any kind which shall be in any way of a political Prod ur partly political nature and detrimental to the interests of the Colony or of the public or of the pupils or contrary to the approved syllabos, shall be permitted amongst the masters or pupils either upon the school premises or upon the occasion of any school šctivity.

(2) The use or display by masters or pupils either upon the school premises or upon the occasion of any school activity of salutes, songs, Junces, slogans, uniforms, Bags or symbols which have a customarily political association and which shall have been declared in writing by the Director in his opinion to be detrimental to the interesta of the Colony or of the public or of the pupils shall be unlawful.

90. A copy of the Ordinance and the regulations shall be kept in Copy of an accessible place in every school and shall be readily available to all Ordin school staff for reference,

91. A contravention of a regulation or sub-regulation specified in Orences and. the first column of the following table shall be an offence and the person penalites. specified in the second column of such table apposite such regulation or sub-regulation or any one or more of such persons shall if guilty of auch contravention be liable to a fine of two thousand dollars or "imprisonment for one year.
