UNIVERSITY ORDINANCE, 1911.

(AMENDMENT OF Statutes of the University).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(2) of the University Ordinance, 1911, the Court amends the Statutes of the University appearing on pages 662 to 681 of Volume II of the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 Edition) as follows:-

1. Paragraph as follows-

of Statute 3 is hereby repealed and replaced Amendment

No degree in medicine or surgery shall be conferred on any person who has not completed a five years' course of medical study at a University or other place of learning, including at least two years at the University of Hong Kong; and no degree in any other Faculty shall be conferred on any person who has not completed at least a three years' course of study at a University or other place of learning, including at least one year at the University of Hong Kong."

2. Sub-paragraph (4) of paragraph of Statute 7 is hereby Amendment amended by the deletion of the words "and being resident in the of Statute Colony" occurring in the second line thereof.

Amendment of Statute

(a) by the deletion from paragraph 1 of the words "in the B

second term' and the substitution therefor of the words "in the third term'; and

(b) by the repeal of paragraph 5 and the substitution of the

following therefor as paragraph 5-

**5. The budget of the University shall be sub- mitted to the Court at a meeting held in the third term and the accounts al a meeting held in the first term of each academic year."'
