REVISED EDITION OF THE LAWS ORDINANCE, 1948.

(under authority of section 9)

In exercise of the powers conferred by the enactment shown the first column of the Schedule hereto annexed, the Commis- sioner of Labour amends the regulations made under the said actment in the manner shown in the second column of the Schedule.

The said amendments shall be incorporated and printed in be revised edition of subsidiary legislation prepared under the Revised Edition of the Laws Ordinance, 1948, No. 20 of 1948, hereinafter referred to as the Ordinance, and if not already in face by virtue of some other enactment shall come into force on the date on which approval of the revised edition of subsidiary gislation is notified by proclamation of the Governor under ection of the Ordinance.

The Factories and Workshops Ordinance, 177, sections $ ånd 8 and the Interpretation Odinance, 1950, section 14A.

The regulations contained in the Schedule to the Factories and Workshops Ordinance, 1937. are amended by the addition after regulation 26 of the following-

Offences and Penalties.

27. (1) Any person who acts in contravention of regulation 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 801), 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18(2), 19, 20, 21(1), 24 or 36 shall commit an offence and shall be liable, on summary conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars: Provided that in the case of a continuing offence the magistrate, if satisfied that the offence has been know. ingly and wilfully committed during a period of ten days, may, in addition to the said fine, impose a further fine of one hundred dollars a day in respect of each day of such excess.
