"Commandant" means the person for the time being appointed by the Governor to be Commandant or in the event of the officer so appointed being for any reason unable to carry out his duties, the officer who after the Commandant is most senior in rank in the Force; "Commanding Officer" means the person for the time being in command of one of the units of the Force, and in the event of there being no such person, means the officer who is most senior in rank in that particular unit; "emergency" means any occasion which the Governor in Council may consider of sufficient gravity to warrant the calling out of the Force or any part thereof;

"Regiment" means the Hong Kong Regiment;
Service Discipline Acts" means the Naval Discipline Act, the
Army Act and the Air Force Act;
"training" means a period of consecutive attendance at such time and place as ordered by the Commandant or Commanding Officer of not less than 6 hours' duration; "volunteer” means an officer or member of the Force who volun- teered for service in the Force, and who has not been directed to enrol in the Force in accordance with the provisions of the Compulsory Service Ordinance, 1951:
"Women's Naval Reserve" means the Hong Kong Women's
Naval Reserve;
"Women's Auxiliary Air Force" means the Hong Kong
Women's Auxiliary Air Force;
"Women's Auxiliary Army Corps" means the Hong Kong
Women's Auxiliary Army Corps.
PART I.
Organization.
"'onlist" and "enrol" shall have the same meaning; "Force" means the Force which the Governor is authorized to
raise and maintain under section 3: "Force Pay and Pensions Code" means the British Pay Code, the British Pensions Code and the Allowance Regulations applicable to the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force respectively as existing from time to time : Provided that in giving effect to this interpretation no officer or member shall be deemed to be locally domiciled; "Home Guard" means the Hong Kong Home Guard; "instruction" means the performance of Instruction periods or parades at such time and place as ordered by the Commandant or Commanding Officer. other than parades or instruction periods which are performed during a period of training; **instruction allowance" means the allowance payable under
subsection (2) of section 17:
