WILD BIRDS ORDINANCE, 1922. REGULATION BY THE GOVERNOR in COUNCIL.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 15 of the Wild Birds Ordinance, 1922, the Governor in Council has made the following amendment to the regulations made under the said Ordinance-

AMENDMENT.

On page 962 of Volume II1 of the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 Edition) the following exemption appearing near the foot of that page shall be deleted-

LICENSEE IS EXEMPTED BY ME UNDER ORDINANCE No. 2 OF 1933 IN RESPECT OF ONE SHOTGUN AND 500 ROUNDS OF SPORTING AMMUNITION.

Explanatory Note.

The effect of the above amendment is to delete from the form of Game Licence issued under the Wild Birds Ordinance, 1922, the condition exempting the licensee from the provisions of section 4 of the Arma and Ammunition Ordinance, 1939.

The above amendment is consequential upon the enactment of the Arms and Ammunition (Amendment) Ordinance, 1950, which (inter alia) authorizes the Commissioner of Police, in bis discretion, to grant to any person a written exemption from the necessity to obtain a licence to carry or have in his possession or under his control arros or ammunition.

Any person who holds a Game Licence under the Wild Birds Ordinance, 1922, is under an obligation to obtain a licence under section 4 of the Arms and Ammunition Ordinance, 1933, unless under section 2 of the latter Ordinance he obtaing written exemption from the Commissioner of Police.
