The Third Schedule (as enacted by Ordinance No. 24 of 1949) is amended by the repeal of item 5 in Part 11 thereof and the substitution therefor of the following-

(a) by a cash deposit in a sum not exceeding four hundred dollars;

(b) by the provision of a guarantor who shall sign a bond conditioned for the payment of a similar sum to the Treasury in the event of a breach of such undertaking, Such bond shall be in a standard form approved by the Director of Medical and Health Services and such guarantor shall be so approved, shall be a resident of the Colony, and may be a justice of the peace, a member of a consulate staff, a principal of a firm which is a member of the General Chamber of Commerce or Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, a permanent Govern- ment servant, or a member of a profession to which registration is applied in the Colony."

(1) The long title is repealed and replaced by the

following

"An Ordinance to provide for the remis- sion of taxes duties rates and other charges paid or payable by consular officials in certain cases and for purposes ancillary thereto."

(2) Section 2 is amended by the addition after the definition of the term "consular official" of the following-

**"tax'' includes an assessment, valuation, levy, rate or other similar charge."
