Section 4 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the addition of the following paragraph after paragraph (11) as paragraph (A)

"(11A) to correct references to repealed enactments by replacing such references by references to the substituted enactments, for which purpose it is declared that an enact- ment is deemed to be substituted for another enactment where it is expressly stated in the subsequent enactment that it is so substituted, or where the subsequent enactment re-enacts with or without modification any provisions of a repented enactment;".

Section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the addition of the following as subsection (3)-

"(3) For the purpose of subsection (1) of this section the expression 'Ordinances' shall include 'Military Proclama- tions","

5. Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the addition of the following as subsection (3)—

"(3) If the Commissioners consider that it is desirable that in the preparation of the revised edition of Ordinances there should be included therein any Ordinance, not in force on the 31st day of December, 1949, but in force on such date as the Governor shall specify by proclamation in the Gaselte, which replaced, consolidated or amended with or without modifications any Ordinance in force on the 31st day of December, 1949. the same may be included in the revised edition of Ordinances and, in that event, any amend- ments or omissions consequential upon such inclusion shall be made in the revised edition."

6. Section 7 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the repeal of subsection (2) thereof and the substitution therefor of the following-

"(2) From the date named in the said proclamation the revised edition of Ordinances shall, without prejudice to the provisions of section 5 and section 6, be deemed to be and shall be without any question whatsoever in all Courts of Justice and for all purposes whatsoever the sole and only proper Statute Book of the Colony in respect of Ordinances in force on the 31st day of December, 1949, and also the sole

and only proper Statute Book of the Colony in respect of any Ordinances or parts of Ordinances included in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6."

Section g of the principal Ordinance is amended by the Amendment addition of the following as subsection (3)—

"(3) If the Commissioners consider that it is desirable Ordinance. that in the preparation of the revised edition of subsidiary legislation there should be included therein any subsidiary legislation not in force on the 31st day of December, 1949. but in force on such date as the Governor shall specify by proclamation in the Gazelle, which replaced, consolidated or amended with or without modifications any subsidiary legis- lation in force on the 31st day of December, 1949, or which was enacted after submission by the Commissioners under the proviso to subsection (1), the same may be included in the revised edition of subsidiary legislation and, in that event, any amendments or omissions consequential upon such inclusion shall be made in the revised edition of subsidiary legislation."

Section to of the principal Ordinance is amended by Amendment the addition of the following as subsection (3)—

of section 10 of the principal

"(3) For the purpose of subsection (1) of this section Ordinance. the expression 'Ordinances' shall include 'Military Proclama- tions'.'

9, Section 11 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the Amondgurat repeal of subsection (2) thereof and the substitution therefor of of section 11 of the the following-

principal Ordinance.

"(2) From the date named in the said proclamation the revised edition of subsidiary legislation shall, without prejudice to the provisions of section 9 and section 10, be deemed to be and shall be without any question whatsoever in all Courts of Justice and for all purposes whatsoever the sole and only proper Statute Book of the Colony in respect of subsidiary legislation in force on the 31st day of December, 1949, and also the sole and only proper Statute Book of the Colony in respect of any subsidiary legislation or parts of subsidiary legislation included in exercise of the powers conferred by section g."
