5. () The Clerk of Councils and the Deputy Clerk of Councils shall each take the oath of allegiance and an oath of secrecy, unless such officer shall have taken such oaths upon previous appointment as Clerk of Councils or Deputy Clerk of Councils in the Colony.

(2) The said oaths shall be tendered by the Colonial Secretary.

6. If any person declines or neglects, sequence of when any oath required to be taken by him compliance. under this Ordinance is duly tendered, to take such oath, he shall, if he has already entered on his office, vacate the same, and, if he has not entered on his office, be dis- qualified from entering on the same.

7. The oaths to be taken hereunder shall be in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule."

(a) by the repeal of Part 1;

(b) by the deletion of the words "Part 11"; (c) by the deletion of the word "SCHEDULE" at the head thereof and the substitution therefor of the following-

"FIRST SCHEDULE. [S. 2.]" (4) The following is added after the First

Schedule-

being chosen and admitted of His Majesty's Executive Council in this Colony, do swear that I will, to the best of my judgment, at all times when thereto required, freely give my counsel and advice to the Governor, ar Officer Administering the Government of this Colony for the time being, for the good manage, ment of the public affairs of this Colony; that I will not directly or indirectly reveal such matters as shall be debated in Council and committed to my secrecy, but that I will in all things be a true and faithful Councillor. So help me God.
