PUBLIC HEALTH (SANITATION) ORDINANCE, 1935- (ORDINANCE No. 15 of 1935).

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, the Urban Council makes the following by-laws for Swimming Pools, which shall be inserted in Schedule A to the said Ordinance, immediately After the by-laws for Scavenging

BY-LAWS.

Swimming Pools.

1. In these by-laws "swimming pool" includes swimming Interpreta- bath or any pool or bath to which the public is admited on tion payment of a fee or which is used by members of any educational institution or of any social club, association, or similar organiza. 1101.

1. No person shall establish or maintain a swimming pool Licence. without a licence in that behalf from the Council.

9. Every such licence shall expire on 31st March and shall Licence

4. (1) No licence shall be issued until the applicant satisfies Structural be Council that the premises comply with the following require- require-

ments:

(a) The lined surfaces shall be light in colour, smooth, free from cracks, and shall be con- structed either of glazed tiles, terrazo, precast polished blocks, or such other material as the Building Authority may approve and the number of joints shall be the minimum.

(6) Scum gutters shall be provided on all sides and shall be drained by means of outlets provided at intervals of not more than ten feet.

(c) Side-walks not less than four feet in width. paved with non-slip material approved by the Building Authority, shall be provided on all
