DUTTABLE COMMODITIES ORDINANCE, 1931.

Resolution under section 4.

WHEREAS by section 4 of the Dutinble Commodities Ordinance, 1981, is provided that the Legislative Council may from time to time by relation impose any duty ou any dutiable goods or any class of dutiable onds, and lower, increase, decrease or vary any such duty to any extent datever:

AND WHEREAS by a resolution made and passed by this Honourable Concil under the said section on the 3rd March, 1948, it was provided that pect of importations paid for after the 25th January, 1948, the rate the purpose of calculating the Hong Kong dollar equivalent of French had in connection with the duty on toilet preparations and proprietary medicines should be Hong Kong $1 to 54 French franes;

AND WHEREAS the value of the French franc in relation to the Hong og dollar has in fact varied from time to time since the date aforesaid;

SOT THEREFORE IT IS HENERY RESOLVED under section 4 of de Dutiable Commodities Ordionuce, 1991, that in respect of importations Mid for after the date hereof, the rate for the purpose of calculating the Hong Kong dollar equivalent of French francs in connection with the duty bilet preparatious and proprietary medicines, as imposed by a resolution this Council passed on the 3rd December, 1947, and made under the said unce shall be the official rate of exchange prevailing at the date of moignent of any such importation as aforesaid in place of the rate of Bug Kong $1 to 54 French francs established by the resolution of this Crowel prased and matte under the said Ordinance on the 3rd March, 1948.

RESOLVED by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong this 20th day of Joly, 1949.
