17. Paragraph (d) of sub-section (1) of section 257 of the priocipal Ordinance is hereby repealed.

18. Sub-section (1) of section 275 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion of the words and bruckets **(or, within the limits of the China Orders in Conncil, before any officer of the Supreme Court for China lawfully authorised to take and receive affidavits)" in the sixth to ninth lines therent.

10. Section 277 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion-

(a) in sub-section (2) of the words and brackets **(and, in the case of a China company, also in such other paper as the Registrar of Companies at Shanghai may select)" in the ninth, tenik and eleventh lines thereof;

(b) in sub-section (3) of the words and brackets **(aud. in the case of a China company, also in such other paper as aforesaid)" in the fifth and six lines thereof:

(e) in sub-section (4) of the words and brackets **(and, In the case of a China company, also in such other paper as afore- said)" in the seventh, eighth and ninth lines thereof;

(d) in sub-section (5) of the words and brackets "(and, in the case of a Chinn company, also in auch other paper as afore. said)" in the fifth and sixth lines thereof.

20. Sub-section (1) of section 279 of the principal Ordinance

is hereby amended by the deletion of the words and brackets **(or, in the case of a China company, as the judge of the Supreme Court for China)" in the fourth and fifth lines thereof.

21. Section 320 of the principal Ordinance is hereby repealad and replaced as follows:-

320. A company incorporated outside the Colony which shall have filed with the Registrar of Companies the documents specified in sub-section (1) of section 319, shall bere the same power to acquire bold and dispose of immovable property in the Colony as if it were a company incorporated under this Ordinance."

22. Sub-section (1) of section 348 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended-

(a) by the deletion of the interpretations given respec- "China Orders in tively to the expressions China company' Council", "Hong Kong China company" and "Minister"; and

(b) by the deletion of the words "or Shanghai as the case may require" in the seventy-ninth and eightieth lines thereof.

23. Part XIV of the principal Ordinance is hereby repealed. Repeal of

Passol the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, this 20th day of January, 1949.
