Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof:

1, This Ordinance may be cited as the Emergency Regula, Shart dile. tions (Amendment) Ordinance, 1940, and shall be read as one with the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, 1922, hereinafter Ordinance referred to as the principal Ordinance.

Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended Amendment (a) by the deletion of all words in the second, third and of the fourth lines of sub-section (2) subsequent to the word "may" in principal the second line thereof and the substitution therefor of the words Ordinance. "provide for";
