An Ordinance to provide for the remission of taxes, duties and fees to which trade commissioners and assistant trade com- missioners may be subjected when payment of such moneys is inconsistent with the privileges of that office.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice
and consent of the Legislative Council thereof;
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Trade Commissioners' short title. Privileges Ordinance, 1048.

2. **Trade commissioner' weans a person recognised by Interpreta. the Governor as being employed in this Colony by any self- dos, governing dominion or any state or province of a self-governing dominion or any self-governing Colony as a trade cominissioner or an assistant trade commissioner.
3. The Governor may direct that any tax, duty or fee Remissioo payable by a trade commissioner under the law of this Colony as of axes, From time to time amended may be remitted when in the opinion duties and of the Governor such tax, duty or fee is payable by a person to Epes. whom and in respect of a matter from which exemption should be granted by reason of the treatment accorded by the Government represented by such trade commissioner to parsons representing His Majesty's United Kingdom Government in a similar capacity.
