An Ordinance to validate the continuance in office of the six members of the Urban Council appointed by the Governor under the provisions of sub-section (9) of section 3 and section 6 of the Urban Council Ordinance, 1935, to hold office until the 24th of May, 1948.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advico and consent of the Legislative Council thereof:
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Urban Council Short tide. (Constitution) (Validation) Ordinance, 1948, and shall be read an one with the Urban Council Ordinance, 1935, hereinafter referred Ordinace to as the principal Ordinance.

(1) The persons hereinafter named shall be deemed to Appointment have been lawfully appointed to be members of the Urban Council of members in exercise of the power conferred upon the Governor by sention 3 of Council of the principal Ordinance as amended by the Urban Council retrospective (Transitional Provisions) Ordinance, 1946, in like manner and with effect. the like result as if the Governor had in fact lawfully so appointed Ordinance them and as if a notification in the Gazette announcing their No. 5 of appointment had been published in a Gazette of the 25th of May, 1945.****
