BY His Excellency Sir ALEXANDER WILLIAM GEORGE HERDER GRANTHAM, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Baint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice Admiral of the same.

WHEREAS by Section I of the Police Force Ordinance, 1948 (Ordinance No. 41 of 1943) it is provided that the said Ordinance shall come into operation on such date sa may be fixed by Proclamation of the Governor,

NOW, I, the said Sir ALEXANDER WILLIAM GEORGE HERDER QUANTHAM do hereby PROCLAIM that the twentieth day of August, 1948 is the date fixed for the coming into operation of the said Ordinance,

GIVEN under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony of Hong Kong, this 12th day of August, 1948.
