An Ordinance to amend the Births and Deaths Registration

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be sited as the Births and Dentha Short útfe. Registration Amendment Ordinance, 1948, and shall be read ag one with the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance, 1934, Ordinance hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance.

22 (1) The Registrar General shall cause indexes principal of the register books in the General Register Office and Ordinance. in district offices to be made, and any person shall be entitled on payment of the fee prescribed by sub-sections (2) or (3), as the case may be, to require a registrar to cause a search to be made of such indexes and register books, and any such person shall be entitled to receive a copy of any entry in the said register books, certified noder the hand of a registrar and sealed or stamped with the seal or stamp of the General Register Office, for which a fee of one dollar shall be paid:
