10. Section 10 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended —

(1) by the addition of the following words at the end of sub-section (a) thereof:-

except where such vessel or aircraft is a vessel or aircraft engaged in firing practice from a gun site.''; and

(ii) by the deletion of the words “Officer Commanding, Royal Artillery, at Military Headquarters, China Command, Hong Kong. Appearing in paragraph (c) thereof, and by the substitu- tion therefor of the words " Commander, Kowloon Area."

Au Ordinance to regulate trade unions and trade disputer,

[11th March, 1948.]

Is it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Trade Unions and Short tide. Trade Disputes Ordinance, 1948.

2. In this Ordinance—

trado dispute means any dispute between employers and workmen or between workmen and workmen, which is connected with the employment or non-employment or with the terms of employment, or with the conditions of labour of any person;

**trade union " means any combination whether temporary or permanent, the principal purposes of which are under its constitution the regulation of the relations between workmen and inasters, or between workmen and workwen, OT between mastera and masters whether such combination would or would not if this Ordinance had not been enacted have been deemed to have been an unlawful combination by reason of some one or more of its purposes being in restraint of trade:

Provided that nothing in this Ordinance-

(a) shall affect

(i) any agreement between partners as to their own

business;
