An Ordinance to amend the Widows' and Orphans' Pension

Ordinance, 1908.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Widows' and Orphans' Short dile. Pension (Amendment) Ordinance, 1948, and shall be read as one with the Widows' and Orphans' Pension Ordinance, 1908, berein- Ordinance after referred to as the principal Ordinance.

"Regulations prescribing persons to whom term "officer'

applies

It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to make Regulations to prescribe the persons to whom the term "officer' in this Ordinance shall apply and to make any such Regulation with retrospective effect to any date not being a date earlier than the first day of January, 1947,: Provided that no such Regulation shall take effect unless it has received the prior approval of the Legislative Council aignified by resolution." Passed the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, this 28th day of January, 1948.
