An Ordinance to facilitate the maintenance of Public Order and Safety.

Bs it ensated by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advica and consent of the Legislative Council thereof;
PART I.
1. This Ordinspoe may be cited as the Public Order Ordinance, Short title. 1948.

In thie Ordinance-
"Meeting"" means a meeting held for the purpose of matters of public interest or for the expression of views on such matters;

"Private premises' means premises to which the public have access (whether on payment or otherwise) only by permission of the owner, occupier or lessee of the premises;
**Public meeting" includes any meeting in a public place and any meeting which the public or any section thereof are permitted to attend, whether ou payment or otherwise;
"Public place" means any highway, public park or garden, any new boach, and any public bridge, road, lane, foolway, square, court, alley or passage, whether a thoroughfare or not; and includes any open space to which, for the time being, the publia have or are permitted to have access, whether on payment or otherwise.
