An Ordinance to amend the Emergency Powera (Extension and

Amendment Incorporation) Ordinance, 1946.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Haug Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof?

t. This Ordinance may be cited as the Emergency Powers Short tide. (Extension and Amendment Incorporation) Amendment Ordinance,

1948.

2. The Emergency Powers (Extension and Amendment Amendment Incorporation) Ordinance, 1946, is hereby amended by the insertion of Ordinance therein of the following additional section:-----

* Cendnu- ance in force of the

(Defence) Regulations, 1940.

34. (1) The Compensation (Defence) Regula- tions, 1940, as modified by Government Notification Compensation No. 424 of 1947, shall, notwithstanding their expiry on the 31st day of December, 1947, be deemed to have continued in force and the same are hereby coutinned in force with the additional molifications set out in the Schedule to the Emergency Powers (Extension and Amendment Incorporation) Amendment Ordinance, 1948.

(2) The Defence Regulations aforesaid shall, with such modifications as aforesaid and any further modification which the Governor may, as be is hereby authorised, by Order make from time to time, continue
