Ac Ordinance to authorise the Registrar General of Births and Deaths to keep special registers of deaths for the purpose of registering deaths previously registered in specified lost registers of deaths formerly kept by the Registrar General of Births and Deaths.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

PART 1.

PRELIMINARY.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Deaths Registra short title.

(a) Death Certificate (1896)" means a certified and Death sealed copy of an entry of a death, given pursuant to section Certificate 21 of Ordinance No. 7 of 1896.

(b) "Death Certificate (1984)" means a certified and Death sealed copy of an entry of a death, given pursuant to section 23 Certificats of Ordinance No. 21 of 1934.

(c) "General Register Office' means the office of the General Registrar Genera}.

(d) Lost Register (1896)" means any register book Lost of deaths formerly kept in accordance with the provisions of Register

(1896). Ordinance No. 7 of 1896 and which, under section 3 of this Ordinance is deemed to have been lost.

(e) "Lost Register (1984)" means any register book Lost of deaths formerly kept in accordance with the provisions of Register

(1934). Ordinance No. 21 of 1934 and which, under section 3 of this Ordinance, is deemed to have been lost.

(f) "No. 1 Register (1896)"' means a special register No. 1 of deaths kept under the provisions of this Ordinance for the Register purpose of registering Death Certificates (1896).

(g) "No. 2 Register (1896)" means a special register No. 2 of deaths kept under the provisions of this Ordinance for the Register purpose of registering evidence other than a Death Certificate (1896) of previous registration in the Lost Register (1896).
