An Ordinance to amend the Education Ordinance, 1913.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Education Amendment Ordinance, 1947, and shall be read as one with the Education Ordinance, 1918, bereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance.

2. Sub-section (2) of Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion of the figure, word and letters 10 (a), (b) and (c)" appearing in the seventh and eighth lines thereof and by the substitution therefor of the figura, word and letters “10 (a) and (b)'*.

3. Section 10 of the principal Ordinance is hereby Repeal and repealed and replaced as follows:-

"Regula Lishoe.

10. It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to make regulations in respect of the following matters -

(a) the bygienic character and proper saritation of school buildings and the taking of precautions against fire or other peril likely to endanger the lives or health of the pupils or other persons frequenting the school or school buildings;

(b) the methods of enforcement of discipline in schools;
