An Ordinance to amend the Adulterated Food and Drugs
Ordinance, 1985.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Adulterated Short title. Food and Drugs Amendment Ordinance, 1947, and shall be read as one with the Adulterated Food and Druga Ordinance, Ordinance 1935, bereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance.

2. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is hereby Amend amended :-

(1) by the repeal of the definition of "food" Cuilicanes. occurring therein and by the substitution of the following definition :--

''Food"' means any article used as food or drink for human consumption, other than drugs or water, and includen~~
(a) any substance which is intended for use in the composition or preparation of food:

(b) any flavouring matter or condiment; and (e) any colouring matter intended for use in
Provided that, notwithstanding anything in this definition, the addition of any colouring or flavouring matter or condiment to an article used as food or drink shall be deemed to be the addition of a substance to food;
(2) by the addition at the end thereof, of the
following definition

"Substance" includes a liquid.
