An Ordinance to amend the Education Ordinance, 1913.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Education Amendment Ordinance, 1947, and shall be read as one with the Education Ordinance, 1913, hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance.

Sub-section (2) of Section 9 of the principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the deletion of the figure, word and letters "10 (a), (b) and (c)" appearing in the seventh and eighth lines therent und by the substitution therefor of the figure, word and letters "10 (a) and (b)''.

3. Section 10 of the principal Ordinance is hereby Repsal und repealed and replaced as follows :-

10. It shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to make regulations in respect of the following matters :-

(a) the hygienic character and proper sanitation of school buildings and the taking of precautions against Bre or other peril likely to endanger the lives or health of the pupils or other persons frequenting the school or school buildings;

(b) the methods of enforcement of

discipline in schools;

(c) the prohibition in schools of the use

of any book which appears undesirable;

(d) the proper keeping and the production

or delivery for inspection of school registers and books of account of schools;
