An Ordinance to amend further the Stamp Ordinance, 1921.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Stamp (Amend- went) Ordinance, 1947, and shall be read as one with the Stamp Ordinance, 1921, (hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance).

2. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is hereby Rupaul and repealed and replaced as follows :-

(1) The Governor may appoint a Collector pri and such Assistant Collectors as he may deem necessary for the purposes of this Ordinance.
(2) An Assistant Collector shall have the same righta and powers as the Collector.**
Sub-section 1 of section 26 of the principal Ordin- ance is hereby repealed and the following sub-section (1) iation substituted therefor :---
(1) Every person who effects any sale or purchase of any shares or marketable securities as a broker or agent or as a principal shall forthwith make and execute a contract note and transmit the note to his principal or to the vendor or purchaser of the shares or marketable securities as the case may be.”
