PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS provision was made by the Ordinances and Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 edition) Ordinance, 1936, Ordinance No. 51 of 1936, for the preparation of a new edition of the Ordinances and a new edition of the Eegulations of the Colony:

AND WHEREAS the First Volume of the said edition of the Ordinances and the First Volume of the said edition of the Regulations of the Colony are now completed and have been published:

AND WHEREAS it is provided in section 7 of the Law Revision Ordinance, 1937, that the said Ordinance shall come into operation by proclamation of the Governor, which shall not be issued before the first of the proclamations referred to in section (2) of Ordinance No. 61 of 1936, and which may form part of such proclamation:

NOW TUEREFORE 1, Sir GEOFFRY ÅLEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, do hereby PROCLAIM that the said First Volume of the said edition of the Ordinances, and the said First Volume of the said edition of the Regulations, of the Colony were laid before the Legislative Council on the 1st day of September, 1938, and were approved by the said Council and that the Law Revision Ordinance, 1937, shall come into operation on the 2nd day of September, 1938.
