PROCLAMATION.

By Bis Excellency CLAUD SEVERN, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, the Officer Administering the Government of the Crkony of Hongkong and its Dependencies ;

Whereas by section 3 of the Chinese Passengers Act 1855 it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor of Hougkong by proclamation for the purposes the said Act among other things to declare what slidl be deemed to be the duration of the voyage

And whergus by section 2 of the Asiatic Ruigration Ordinance 1015 it is ouauteri that in the said Ordinance the term "long voyage meaus nay voyage within the mean- jug of the said Act which is declared by proclamation by the Governor to be a voyage of more than 30 days duration and that the term "short voyage means any voyage within the meaning of the said Act of more than 7 days duration but not exceeding 30 days duration and any other voyage which may be declared by proclamation by the Governor to be a elurt voyage :

And whereas it is expedient that the proclamation issued in pursuance of the afore- said powers on the 1st day of December 1911 be amended by the inclusion of voyages to Stain:

Now therefore I, Claud Bevers, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, the Officer Administering the Government of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, do hereby by this procimation declare that for the purposes of the said Act and the said Orliosuce the voyage of any ship from Hongkong or from any port in China or within 100 miles of the coast thereof to any port in Siam shall be deemed to be a short voyage of more than 7 days buration hut not exceeding 30 days duration.
