PROCLAMATION

By His Excellency Sir FREDERICs Jons DEALTHY LUGARD, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the sume,

Whereas by the Military Stores (Prohibition of Exportation) Ordinance, 1802, it is enacted that it albuki be lawful for His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice of the Executive uncil, by Proclamation to be published in the Hongkong Governineat Gazette or in my Extraordinary (hazette, to prohibit, for such period as should be mentioned in such Proclination, either to be exported from the Colony of Hongkong, or to be carried constwise within the said Colony (amongst other things) Arms, Aminunition. Gunpowder, and Military and Naval Stores, and any articles which His Excellency may judge capable of being converted into or male useful in increasing the quantity of Military or Naval Stores, or any or either of such Arms, Ammunition, Gunpowder, Stores, Goods or Articles respect- ively, subject to any permission that may be obtained under Section 3 of the Ordinance:

And whereas, by various Prochumations issued from titne to time, such exportation and carriage constwise were prohibited, and remain prohibited until the 37th day of May, 1909, and that it is expedient to continue such prohibition:

Now, therefore, I, Sir FREDERICK Jows Deauroy Lauwen, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Companion of the Distinguished Service Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice Admiral of the same, by and with the advice of the Executive Council of this Colony, do, by this Proclamation, prohibit for a further period of one year from and including the 28th day of May, 1909, either to be exported from the Colony of Hongkong, ot to be carried coastwise within the said Colony, Arms, Ammunition, Gunpowder, and Military and Naval Stores, and any articles which I may judge capable of being converted into or nude useful in increasing the quantity of Military or Naval Stores, or any or either of such Arms, Ammunition, Gunpowder, Stores, Goods or Articles respectively, unless this Proclamacion shall, in the meantime, be revoked, or unless permission shall have been obtained under Section 3 of the Ordinance above mentioned.

Given under my hand find the Public Seal of the Colony, at Victoria, Hongkong, this 4th day of June, 1909.
