PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Sir MATTHEW NATHAN, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas by Section 3 of The Chinese Passengers' Act, 1855, it is enacted that it shall be lawful For the Governor of Hongkong, by Proclamation, for the purposes of the aid Act, among other things to declare what shall be deemed to be the duration of the voyage of any Chinese Passenger Ship:
Now, therefore, I, the said Sir MATTHEW NATHAN, under and by virtue of the powers conferred on me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that, for the purposes of the said Art, the voyage of any Chinese Passenger Ship from Rongkong or any port of China to South Africa shall be deemed to be a voyage of over thirty days' duration.
