PROCLAMATION.

Offcer ddasinistering the Rovernment,
By His Excellency Major-General Sir WILLIAM Jemus Gasconese, Kaight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, the Officer for the time being Administer ing the Government. Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admind of the same.
Whereas, by Ordinance No. 8 of 1862. untitled Au Ordinance to authorize is Excellency the Governer by Proclamation to probibit the Expurtation of Military Stores and other Articles, as auenful by Ordinanca No. 3 of 1884, entitled AuDefinance to amend Ordinance & of 1862, it is enacted that it should be lawful for His Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice of the Executive Council, by Proclamation to be published in the Hongkong Government Gazette or in any Extraor dinary Gazette, to probibir, the such period as should be mentioned in such Proclamation, either to bre exported from the Colony of Hongkong, or to be carried constwise within the said Colony, (amongst other things) Arms. Ammunition, Gunpowder, and Military and Naval Stores, mud any articles which His Excellency may julge capable of being converted into or made useful in increasing the quantity of Military or Naval Stores, or any or either of such Arms, Anuansition, Gunpowder, Stores, Goods or Articles respectively, subject to any permission that may be obtained under the last meationel Delinaner:
And whereas, by Proclamation dated the fili day of July, 1900, sich exportation and carriage castrise were probilitul for a period of four months from and including the 28th day of July, 1900); And whereas, by Proclamation dated the 13th day of November, 1900, such exportation and carriage constwise were prolilbited for a further period of six months from aml including the 28th day of November, 1900:
And whereas, by Proclamation dated the 15th day of May, 1901, snel exportation and carriage const wise were próhibined for a further period of six months from and including the 28th day of May,

And whereas, by Proclamation dated the hird day of December, 1901, such exportation and carringe coast wise were prohibited for a further period of six months, from and including the 28th y of November, 1901: and whereas, I have deterthine, with the advice of the Executive Council of this Colony, that it is expedient to further contime and extend such prohibition for the period hereinafter
mentioned:
Now, therefore, I. Major-General Sir William Juncos Gascotesk, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, the Officer for the time being Administer- ing the Government, Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the anne, by and with the wivice of the Executive Council of this Culony, do, by this Proclamation, prohibit for a further perink of six months from and including the 28th day of May, 1902, either to be exported from the Colony of lougkong, or to be carried constwise within the said Colony, Arms. Ammunition, Gunpowder, and Military atol Naval Stores, and any articles which I tay judge capable of being converted into or male useful in increasing the quantity of Military or Naval Stores, or any or either of such Armes, Ammunition, Gunpowder, Stores, Goods or Articles respectively, unless this Proclamation shall, in the meantime, be revoked, or unless permission shall have been obtained under Ordinance No. 3 at 1884.
