By His Excellency Major-General Sir WILLIAM JULIOs Gascons, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer Administering the Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong ani its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the
SITE.
Whereas by section 15 of Ordicauce No. 37 of 1901, entitled "An Ordinance to further awend the Chinese Emigration Consolidation Ordinance, 1889," it is enacted as follows -

This Onliusuce aball not come into operation unless and until the Governor polities by Proclamation, which shall be published in the (fazate, that it is His Majesty's pleasure not to disallow the same and it shall come into operation upon the date of such publication," And whereas in was His Majesty's pleasure not to disallow the said Ordinance :
Now therefore, I, Sir WILLIAM Julius Gascoigne, Knight Commander of the Most Distin- guished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Officer Administering the Government for the time Being and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice Admiral of the same, in pursuance of the said section and by virtue of the authority in me vested, do hereby under my band proclaim that the said Ordinance shall come into force on the First day of June, 1908.
