PROCLAMATION.

Governor,

By His Excellency Sir HENRY ARTHUR BLAKE, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael und Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong. kong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas, by Regulation No. 1 of the Quarantine Regulations made by the Governor in Council on the 18th day of March, 1897, under section 25 of Ordinance No. 26 of 1891, it is provided that the term "port or place at which any infections or contagious disease prevailed means a port or place proclaimed to be such by Order of the Governor in Council, published in the Gazette, from the date of much proclamation.

And whereas the said Quarantine Regulations were duly notified to take effact as from the 1st day of May, 1897.

And whereas the Governor iu Council has ordered that the Port of Manila should be proclaimed as a port or pince at which an infections or contagious disease prevails.

Now, therefore, I, Sir Hesy Acrнus Blake, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong- kang and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, do, bereby, with the advice of the Executive Council, proclaim that the Port of Manila is a port or place at which an infectious or contagious disease prevails.
