By His Excellency Major-General Winmax Julius Gasporese, Offiour Administering the Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice- Admiral of the same.

Wheras, by Regulation No. 1 of the Quasoutine Regulations made by the Governor in Council on the 18th day of March, 1997, under section 25 of Orlinance No. 20 of 1891, it is provided that the term ** port or place at which any infbetious or contagious disease prevailed " romana a port or place proclaimed to be such by Order of the Governor in Conncil, pablished in the Fasette, from the date of such proclution.

dod wheres the said Quarantine Regulations were duly notified to take effect as from the 1st Any of May, 1887,

And whereas the Officer Administering the Government in Conneil has ordered that Tai Nan, Formosa, should be proclaimed as a port or place at which un infectious or contagious disease prevails.

Now, therefore, I, William Jolies Gascoigne, Officer Administering the Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, do, hereby, with the advice of the Executive Council, proclaims that Tai Nan, Formosa, is a port or place at which an infectious or contagious disease prevails,
