By His Excellency Sir G. WILLIAM DES VEUx, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong- kong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas by section 16 of Ordinance 27 of 1890, entitled The Squatters' Ordinance, 1800, it is enacted as follows :-
"This Ordinance shall not come into force until Her Majesty's confirmation thereof is proclaimed by the Governor."

WILLIAM DES Vaux, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, in pursuance of the said section and by virtue of the authority in me vested, do hereby under my hand proclaim that the said Ordi nance shall come into force on the 1st day of May, 1891.
