An Ordinance enacted by the Governor of Hong. koog, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, to amend The Trade Marks Ordinances (Nos. 16 of 1873 and 8 of 1886).

BE it acted by the Governor of Hongkong, Tibe th
qatrice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-
1. Sections 3 and 9 of Ordinanco No. 16 of 1873 are bereby repealed.
2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 8 of 1896 is bereby repealed.
3. In lieu of section 3 of Ordinance No. 16 of 1873 the following section shall be substituted :-
"Every such application shall be made to the Governor "of the Colony and shall be accompanied by “a facsimile or specimen of the trade mark sought to be registered verified by affidavit, and every such affidavit shall set forth the description "and nature of the goode upon which such trude "mark has hitherto been or is intended to be "used and that the deponent is to the best of his "belief entitled solely or jointly with other per

sone therein named to the exclusive use of such " trade mark. Provided always that such appli- *cation shall not be granted unless notice of such "application having been made shall have been **inserted by the applicant at least once a month in "the Government Gazette and in such other news-
