on the 28th day of January, 1896.

1. Puuisluments to be inflicted under The Police Force Consolidation Ordinance, 1887, for the offences mentioned in the first column of the scale hereunder will not be in excess of the punishments mentioned in the second colun of such scale.

Offence.

Disobedience of orders. Sleep- ing on duty. Insubordination, Intoxication. Cowanlice in the performance of duty. Other noglect of duty,

Absence from duty,

Desertion,

Maximum Punishment,

Confinement to Barracks with or without drill for soven days.

Seven days' imprisonment,

Reduction in rank or class,

Dismissal from the Foruc.

A fine not exceeding soven days' pay.

Confinement to Barmeks with or without drill fur seven days. Reduction in rank or clans.

Dismissal from the Farce.

A fine not exceeding seven days' pay in addition to forfeiture of pay during period

of absence.

Dismissal from the Furce.

Provided that this Regulation shall not apply to eases dealt with by a Magistrate under Section 23 of The Police Force Consolidation Ordinance, 1887.

2. If any of the offences above mentioned or any other offence against discipline is not met with punishment but with a caution, reprimand or severe reprimand, such caution, reprimand or severe reprimand will be entered in the "Deluniter's Sheet."

8. In estimating the conduct of any subordinate officer or constable black marks shall attach as well in respect of offences heretofore as hereafter committed according to the following scale :-
