Any person objecting to the works or use, or both, must send his objection in writing to the Secretary for Transport at the Central Government Offices, East Wing, second floor, Lower Albert Road, Central, no later than August 29, describing his interest and the manner in which he alleges he will be affected by the works or the use.

Victoria Road improvements Stage II Phase I

The Highways Department is inviting tenders for the Victoria Road improvements Stage II Phase I.

Works comprise the realignment and widening of a 1.3 kilometre long section of Victoria Road Between Mount Davis Road and Sandy Bay Road into a two-lane carriageway with footpaths of width up to 2.75 metres on both sides of the road for most of its length; road reconstruction and associated drainage works; and construction of two viaducts at sharp bends to straighten the road.

Construction works are expected to start in September and will take about 26 months to complete.

The works have been designed and will be supervised by Rendel Palmer and Tritton (Asia) Development and Engineering Consultants for Highways/Hong Kong Region of Highways Department.

A notice on tender invitation has been gazetted today (Friday).
