HEAVY FINE FOR UNAUTHORISED BUILDING WORKS

THE BUILDINGS ORDINANCE OFFICE (BOO) OF THE BUILDINGS AND LANDS DEPARTMENT TODAY (SATURDAY) REITERATED

STAFF OF THE BOO INSPECTED THE PREMISES ON AUGUST 8 LAST YEAR AND FOUND THAT CERTAIN UNAUTHORISED BUILDING WORKS WERE BEING CARRIED OUT ON THE FLAT ROOF OF THE BUILDING. THE UNAUTHORISED STRUCTURES MEASURED ABOUT 77 SQUARE METRES AND WAS SUBDIVIDED INTO FLATS FOR LIVING PURPOSES.

THE HIGHWAYS DEPARTMENT PROPOSES TO RECONSTRUCT HOP KWAN STREET AT TAI KOK TSUI TO ENABLE PROPER MANAGEMENT AFTER RESUMPTION OF THE STREET.

A SPOKESMAN FOR THE HIGHWAYS DEPARTMENT SAID THE PROJECT INCLUDED THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE CARRIAGEWAYS,

THE REPAIR WORK WILL COMMENCE IN MID NEXT YEAR AND WILL TAKE ABOUT SIX MONTHS TO COMPLETE.

THE PROPOSED WORKS WAS GAZETTED YESTERDAY.
